It started, like a lot of modern love stories do, on a dating app (Bumble).
After about a month of talking and getting to know each other, Chris asked Melissa out on a date. He suggested getting some ice cream and doing a little shopping at The Wizard’s Chest, where he was looking for gifts for his nephews and niece around the holiday season.
But during the week, Melissa had a craving for margaritas and decided she didn’t want to wait until the weekend. She wanted a margarita now. 😂
So she asked Chris if he wanted to meet up for some drinks at a Mexican restaurant somewhere between the two of them. Chris attempted to impress Melissa by ordering a more complex traditional Mexican dish.
She was… not impressed. 😂
The official date went a lot better.
They wandered around The Wizard’s Chest before getting ice cream. Along the way, Melissa kept looking into the little shops. Chris noticed and asked if she’d like to go back and look around after ice cream.
It was a small moment, but it stuck with her. He had noticed something she enjoyed.
A month later, they officially became a couple.
Their first Valentine’s Day together made that feeling even clearer. Chris planned dinner at a French restaurant because he knew how much Melissa loved Paris. After dinner, he noticed an art studio nearby and asked if she’d like to go. Melissa smiled and told him it was one of her favorite places in Cherry Creek.
Once again, he had been paying attention.
And somewhere along the way, all those little moments became a life together.
They didn’t have a grand, cinematic moment when everything suddenly became certain. They simply kept choosing each other, discovering new places and experiences together, and building a life that felt like their own.
Now they’re getting married—and they’re excited to celebrate that next chapter with the people they love most.
As for why they’re getting married…
You’ll have to ask them. ❤️
